The German Tiger tank in the movie is actually a Russian T55 not a T34.This type of tank was built in the Sixties and was used by the Iraqi forces in the gulf war.The movie industry commissioned it to be built. It is a good copy but the tracks are too narrow and the Road wheels are not in two intermeshing rows as on a proper Tiger. The front drive wheel is tiny compared to a tigers less than half the proper size. The Turret is too big for the tank body. Also the belly of the tank is too high because the T55 was a much lighter tank than the Tiger. |

Tom Hanks arrives at the beaches. But the strange thing is that the beaches weren't taken until invasion wave 3. There were 3 waves of invasion waves. The first wave were all but slaughtered...few of the men survived. But because there are no dead bodies on the beaches when Tom Hanks and his men arrive we assume he is with the first wave. But Tom Hanks and his invasion wave take the beaches. |

Anyone who has actually fired a rifle or machine gun will tell you a weapon's recoil is quite powerful. Yet everyone who fires a weapon throughout the film, shows little or no recoil while firing the weapon. Hollywood firearm blanks cannot create the same effect as a real bullet. |

When jackson fires his first shot, hitting the german occupying an mg42, notice that when the german is hit blood comes out of his neck, but the next shot shows the german with his head back and blood spraying from his face. obviously if he were shot in the neck, the bullett would pass through the main artery, hitting the back of the oesaphagus and out if his neck again. the angle at which jackson shoots the german indicates the bullett would not have passed through his face, resulting in blood only being lost through the jugular vein and not the face. |

We're told that Ryan's brothers were members of the 29th before the Sullivan brothers were killed. After that they were split up. It's doubtful that all four would have been assigned to the 29th in the first place, as the 29th was mostly comprised of Virginia National Guard troops as the cadre. |

The American soldiers are throwing frag grenades at the Germans, the German are throwing them back, and huge explosions result. During the battle of ramelle private ryan and capt miller were using mortar rounds as makeshift grenades. After removing the fuse arming wire they hit the mortar round hard on the mortar baseplate (activating the fuse.)Then thrown at the advancing germans. capt miller and ryan had 100% success with exploding the mortar round but in reality the mortar rounds would have needed impact on their igniter heads to explode properly and you'd think that 2 soldiers desparetly trying to defend themselves wouldn't have been accurate enough to penetrate the ignition heads everytime. |
