Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)

A member of a rich British aristocratic family, Lara Croft is a "tomb raider" who enjoys collecting ancient artifacts from ruins of temples, cities, etc. worldwide, and doesn't mind going through death-defying dangers to get them. She is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, weapons training, and foreign languages - and does them all in tight outfits. Well, the planets of the solar system are going into planetary alignment (Which occurs every 5,000 years), and a secret society called the Illuminati is seeking an ancient talisman that gives its possessor the ability to control time. However, they need a certain clock/key to help them in their search, and they have to find the talisman in one week or wait until the next planetary alignment to find it again. Lara happens to find that key hidden in a wall of her mansion. The Illuminati steal it, and Lara gets an old letter from her deceased father telling her about the society's agenda (Her father was also the one who hid the key). Now, she must retrieve the key and find and destroy the talisman before the Illuminati can get their hands on it

DVD 0:01 Visual When we first see Lara hanging upside down the rope she is supposedly hanging on is supprisingly straight. Anyone who has climbed a rope before knows that ropes don't hang like that when they have a person on them. To add to this when she does her very graceful flip down to the ground the actual cable that she is hanging on, by a harness, is visible as it gleams in the light. Julia2
Cinema 0:03 Continuity In the beginning, the scene where Lara is fighting the robot she places her guns back in her holsters at one point, if you watch closely, she misses the holster completely with one gun. delboy1
DVD 0:03 Continuity When Lara tears a bunch of wires out of Simon, the robot freezes. Lara takes a few - at least 8 - steps towards the treasure - so Simon's about 15 feet behind her - and in the next moment when Simon regains consciousness he's right behind Lara's back. We did't hear the robot moving, only when he got up. How did Simon get there? jimmy1

DVD 0:13 Continuity Angelina is obviously wearing some additional padding during the movie to create our heroine's ample charms. In the night-time shot of her descending the stairs just before she finds the hidden clock, something must have slipped as her left breast is noticeably lower than her right. In the following close-up the problem's been discretely rectified. delboy
DVD 0:15 Visual When Bryce the electronics wizard is examining the clock's innards with a fibre optic camera, the image playing on the monitor screen is never in sync with the movement of his hand as it guides the camera around inside the clock. It would have been so easy to make this look convincing but it seems the effects team just couldn't be bothered. shawn1
DVD 0:18 Continuity Near the beginning, just after Lara has rushed over Tower Bridge on her bike and is outbid at the auction, she is talking to Alex West, I think. The base of the lamp is positioned well to his left so that the bulb shines directly over the artifact. As the scene ends there is a cut to another camera angle and as the man turns to Lara and rises, the lamp, now unlit, is positioned further to the man's right, and a large magnifying glass on a stand that wasn't there before is now in the lamp's original place. jimmy1
Cinema 0:25 Continuity When Lara is about to bungee ballet, the bungee ropes themselves are on the side of the balcony, yet when she is actually bungee-ing, the ropes are suddenly on either side of the big room she is in, so she is bungee-ing in the middle of the room. jimmy1

DVD 0:31 Visual During the night-time shoot-out in Lara's garage, she picks up her remote car keys and holds them close to her face to zap the cars. They give off a little red glow which illuminates her right temple. There's a switch shot to one of the startled baddies, then back to Lara who is no longer holding up the keys but you get a quick but very clear view of a smartly attired (white cuffed and jacketed) male hand holding a small red torchlight reaching around from behind Lara's head to make that little glow on her temple. Next shot of Lara, the keys are again held high and the mystery hand is gone. jimmy1
DVD 0:33 Fact When the UPS man arrives the morning after the gunfight in Lara's house, he must have built-in springs in his shoes. There is not enough time for him to switch the engine off and get out of the van, before he appears in the shot. delboy
Cinema 0:33 Continuity When the UPS man arrives, he steps through the open front doors in to Lara's mansion, then it cuts to his feet, when it cuts back to him, the doors he just came through are closed. delboy
DVD 0:33 Visual When the UPS man walks through the door into Lara's house, there is a close-up of his feet which shows him walking through debris from the previous night gunfight, but a longer shot shows no debris on the floor behind him. Then another close-up shot shows debris in front of him, which looks remarkably like the debris he's just supposed to have walked through. Julia2
DVD 0:33 Fact The UPS truck being driven to driver a package to Laura has the steering wheel on the Right side, not the left which is standard in England. WingedSpur
DVD 0:34 Continuity "The morning after Laras home has been wrecked by intruders she receives a delivery from a UPS delivery man. When she opens the package it is clearly in a DHL envelope. DVD 1:05 Continuity When Lara writes on the steamed-up shower cubicle while Alex is at the door frightening the chambermaid with his large *weapon*, as Alex goes to the door he pauses to pick up the gun from the table. You can see the shower cubicle behind him over his shoulder, and although it's slightly out of focus the word TRAITOR seems to be written there already. But Lara hasn't done it yet. jimmy1

DVD 1:19 Visual When Angelina Jolie is in the bubbling water trying to free a person, on her left upper arm it is possible to see a dark patch where her make up is rubbing off and her tattoo that says Billy Bob is showing through. delboy
DVD 1:22 Continuity Lara reverses the direction of the moving dagger so it hits Manfred in the left side of his chest. The shot of him falling backwards shows the dagger a couple of inches higher up in his chest than where it apparently hit. When he removes it while lying on the ground it's higher again, now just under his collar-bone. shawn1
DVD 1:23 Visual When Powell pulls the knife out of his shoulder, it can very clearly be seen that he is merely pulling the handle upwards, thus revealing the blade that was actually hidden in the handle. shawn1
